Applies the standard rules for the US (published before the current year minus 95, plus the 1929-1963 renewal note), Canada (life + 70 since 2022-12-30, life + 50 for authors who died before 1972), the UK and EU (life + 70) and Australia, from the publication year and author death year you give, then checks whether the work is already in the free catalogue. Returns a verdict per jurisdiction with reasoning; not legal advice. $0.01 per check.
