Turn arbitrary text into a URL-safe slug
Turn arbitrary text into a URL-safe slug. Decomposes accents, transliterates German umlauts, Scandinavian and Turkish letters, and the ligatures that lose meaning under plain NFD, lowercases, collapses separators, and truncates on a word boundary. Options for separator character, maximum length, case preservation and whether to strip stop words. Returns the slug plus what was removed.
