What Vamola asks you for
Vamola asks for your Passport, your Destination, your Purpose and your age, all required, plus any Transit countries, optional, to match you against published Routes. These are used to compute your match. What you search for never leaves your device. Everything Vamola does is free, so there is no tier where that changes.
What is stored locally, and what is not
Vamola stores your last Passport, Destination, Purpose, age and any Transit countries on your own device only, so the app opens where you left off and can show your match again without asking twice. None of this is sent to, or stored on, a Vamola server. Nothing about you beyond these local choices is stored.
Accounts, only if you want alerts by email
Vamola has no accounts today, and nothing it does costs anything, so there is nothing to buy and no account is needed to use it. Change alerts, described in the manual, are not built yet. When they are, having them sent to you by email will need you to sign in with your Google or Apple account, never an email and a password of your own choosing, and that sign-in will store an account identifier and the address the alerts go to, nothing else. That is the only reason an account will ever exist: to know where to send an alert you asked for, not to build a profile of what you searched for.
The app works fully offline and signed out
Matching itself never needs an account, a sign-in or a network request beyond fetching the government Facts Vamola cites; Vamola works fully offline and fully signed out, before and after accounts exist. Signing in will only ever be required to have alerts emailed to you, never to use Vamola.
Advertising
Vamola is free and carries advertising. Ads on the web run through Google AdSense; ads in the apps run through Google AdMob. Both networks may collect data such as device identifiers and approximate location for ad delivery and measurement, under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. Vamola refuses advertising from the immigration lawyer, visa agency and visa consultancy categories, and never places an ad above or inside an answer: one slot, below the answer, at most. Vamola does not detect or block ad blockers, and nothing about the app is degraded if you use one.
No selling of data
Vamola does not sell your data. What you search for never leaves your device, and once accounts exist, the only thing stored about you on a server is an account identifier and the address your alerts go to, neither of which is for sale.
Your control
Clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling it, removes your locally stored Passport, Destination, Purpose, age and Transit choices. Once accounts exist, you can stop your alerts at any time, and signing out of your Google or Apple account on a device stops that device from being linked to them.
